This Night Has Opened My Eyes -abstract landscape painting

This Night has Opened My Eyes is part of a series of atmospheric landscape paintings inspired by memories and photographs. 

In my work there is a theme of celebrating life. This collection is based on my own photographs of places I have visited over the years. this piece is evocative of many rainy days in the UK.

I wanted to honor these special moments by recreating the mood and feeling of these occasions. I used thin layers of paint and employed Dutch pour techniques to reflect the haziness of memory and the fleeting nature of moments.
