Late Night Walk

Late Night Walk is part of a series of atmospheric landscape paintings inspired by memories and photographs

In my work there is a theme of celebrating life. This collection is based on my own photographs of places I have visited over the years.  This work is influenced by walking in the tropical landscape and numerous botanical gardens of The Azoures.  I wanted to honor these special moments in life by recreating the mood and feeling of these occasions. I used thin layers of paint and employed Dutch pour techniques to reflect the haziness of memory and the fleeting nature of moments.  I also used stenciling of leaves and bamboo to created layers and the effect of pearing through the foliage.
